Israeli-Russian Modus Operandi in Syria

Whatever you think of Israel's Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu, you have to admit he has one of the toughest jobs in the world. Just look at what he has on his plate every morning he wakes up …

The U.S.

America, Israel's best friend, has, under President Barack Obama's leadership, has concocted a wacky deal with Iran, Israel's worst enemy. It will enable the Ayatollahs to produce nuclear weapons in 10 to 15 years or whenever. First Obama pressured Democratic Senators to swallow it hook, line and sinker - they do not even know what's in the 'secret clauses'. So now Bibi, who apparently does, must 'grin and bear it'. His only reasonable course of action is to restore his strained relations with the U.S. President and hopefully bolster Israel's security in the wake of Iran's nuclear ascendancy. Barring unforeseen circumstances, Barack will also agree to bury the hatchet, particularly with the American presidential election looming on the horizon.

Obama claims victory in Iranian nuclear dispute

It's all over! There was no mistaking President Barack Obama's 'magnanimous in victory' appearance on his live webcast to America's Jewish community leaders. Just a few days go Obama had called 'crazies' those opponents who were still bucking his controversial deal with Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. What happened? After more Democratic Senators signed on, it ruled out the attempt to kill the deal in Congress. So the President has now declared he is ready to bury the hatchet with Israel’s Prime Minister, Bibi Netanyahu:

"We're all pro-Israel... the (U.S.) commitment to Israel is sacrosanct, non- partisan and always will be!"

FRANCE'S '9/11' IN PARIS

France is reeling and trying to come to grips with an Islamist terror attack that has rocked it to its very core. The cold-blooded killers who shot dead two policemen and then systematically executed the ten caricaturists and editors of the Charlie Hebdo satirical weekly not only committed a massacre, but also dealt a severe blow to the very foundations of the French republic. It would appear to be on a lesser scale of the '9/11' atrocity that shocked America and the world more than thirteen years ago. The writing was on the wall, written in blood, for President Francois Hollande and the French government, after French Jihadists repeatedly attacked Jews in France and Brussels. However these were passed off as isolated incidents or carried out by 'deranged' individuals. But now the Jihadists have perpetrated a carefully planned slaughter that has wiped out a French magazine because it dared to lampoon the prophet Mohammed. In fleeing the scene, one of the killers casually walked up to a wounded policeman lying on the sidewalk and calmly shot him in the head. He then walked to the get away car and shouted:

'Allah is great', and 'We have avenged the prophet Mohammed!'

KERRY TACKLES ISRAELI - PALESTINIAN LOGJAM

What happens if the Kerry mission is unable to break the Israeli-Palestinian logjam by the April 29th deadline? So far the Secretary of State's diplomatic marathon has barely made a dent in the impasse. Israeli Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas are sticking to their guns. It hasn't come as any big surprise, what was apparent at the outset has prevailed: the maximum that either side is ready to offer is less than the minimum that the other side will accept. So rather than cobble a peace treaty between Israel and the Palestinians, the US Secretary of State is now trying just to keep the ball rolling on an agreed framework of principles. Even that is an uphill struggle.

EGYPT - APPEARANCES & REALITY

When it comes to understanding Egypt today, U.S. President Barack Obama and other Western leaders really don't get it. They are confusing the outcome of an indecisive election with the reality of the anti-democratic Muslim Brotherhood hijacking the Egyptian Revolution in order to found an Islamist state like Iran. These are some of the key questions that America and the West should be addressing:

MI6 Backs Barak on Nuclear Iran

MI6 is Britain's equivalent of Israel's Mossad and America's CIA, therefore its director Sir John Sawers should have a pretty clear picture of the Iranian nuclear crisis. According to Britain's Daily Telegraph, Sawers took the wraps off the current situation in a rare briefing to 100 British civil servants. Analyst David Essing finds points of agreement between the MI6 and that of Israel's Defense Minister Ehud Barak. (See IsraCast - 'Barak's Time Line on Iran').

Israel's Border Intifada and Mossad

Israel has reacted firmly to Arab attempts to launch an uprising, or intifada in Arabic, along its borders. Rioters from Syria tried again and were repulsed as were Palestinians at the Kalandia check point on the West Bank and at the Gaza border. In another development, the tight-lipped former Mossad Director Meir Dagan, has set off a major controversy by launching a peace initiative to the Palestinians and not Israeli jets at Iran's nuclear weapons facilities.

North Korea & Iran - Connect The Dots

North Korea's nuclear weapons capability enables that rogue state to literally 'get away with murder' - that is one lesson to be drawn from the current crisis. There are others that also reflect on Iran's current drive to get the bomb. Proof of North Korean startling aggression against South Korea coincides with Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu's upcoming visit to France, Canada and the U.S. IsraCast is of the view that the case of nuclear North Korea 'unacceptable' killing of forty-six South Korean sailors serves as a preview of what to expect from Iran, if she also acquires nuclear weapons. Netanyahu will likely call on his hosts to take more effective action against Iran before time runs out and to connect the dots between the latest North Korean atrocity and the looming Iranian threat.

Closing The Ring On Iran

By enriching uranium from 3% to 20%, Iran appears to have startled most of the international community into finally believing that her ultimate goal is to acquire nuclear weapons. However China, which can cast a veto in the UN Security Council against stiffer sanctions, is still holding out. Amid the mounting tension, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu will be flying to Moscow to discuss the situation with Russian leaders, while U.S. Admiral Mike Mullen flies to Israel. Meanwhile Brig.Gen.(res.) Uzi Eilam, a former top Israeli nuclear official, has contended that although Iran's move was dramatic, the Iranians apparently still do not have the required capability to build an atomic bomb.

Israeli Double Bind Over Iranian Nuclear Threat

The Iranian nuclear threat was obviously high on the agenda of US President Barack Obama and Israel's Prime minister Binyamin Netanyahu when they met in the White House this week. So far, nothing has leaked about what they discussed. However according to the respected Al-Hayat newspaper, published in London, 'informed sources' have said Netanyahu told Sarkozy that Israel did not rule out a military strike against Iran. The French leader stressed the need of pursuing with the current diplomatic effort that has failed to dissuade to halt its uranium enrichment program. Meanwhile, in the Knesset Foreign Affairs & Defense Committee, the IDF Chief Of Staff, Gen. Ashkenazi made some telling remarks that illuminate the nuclear double bind that confronts Israel at this juncture.

Exclusive - A New Strategy for Immunotherapy of Cancer

The best way to prevent and remove infections is through the natural 'sterilising' action of the immune response that combines elements of both innate and adaptive immunity to ward off foreign pathogens without medical intervention. The immune system 'remembers' the cleared foreign antigens to speed up its response to re-infection. The immune system in most cancer patients can still completely destroy viruses and bacteria. The ferocity and specificity of this response can be witnessed in the way an inadequately suppressed immune system can completely destroy a large transplanted organ, while sparing one’s own (self) tissues. This destructive effect would be beneficial for cancer therapy if it could be directed at tumours.

U.S. Umbrella Resembles Chamberlain's!

If the Obama administration has ruled out pre-emptive military action to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons, Israel has not followed. Israeli officials have criticized Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's comments that the U.S. would supply a 'defensive umbrella' to the Gulf states, if Iran gets the bomb. Israeli officials have said they do not agree to Iran getting the bomb, nor should the Obama administration. IsraCast assesses the latest developments as Russia announces that the nuclear reactor it has sold to Iran at Bushehr will go operational by the end of the year.

Tissue Engineering Will Prevent Bypass Surgeries

A new Israeli technology makes use of genetic engineering to allow the body to produce new blood vessels that can bypass obstructed arteries. A study conducted at Carmel Medical Center suggests that use of tissue engineering will result in an international breakthrough in the field of blood vessel bypasses - a development that may prevent the performance of bypass surgeries in situations of obstructed arteries.

IRAQ - VIETNAM OR MUNICH?

Prof. Bernard Lewis, considered by many to be the dean of Middle East experts, has rejected the comparison of the U.S. role in Iraq to Vietnam. Addressing the Jerusalem conference in the Israeli capital, Lewis called it: 'a total false analogy' - it may be more similar to British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain in his capitulation to Nazi Germany's Adolph Hitler at Munich in 1938. Among other topics, Lewis also explained why many Arab leaderships now view radical Islam and Iran as more dangerous than Israel.

MACHIAVELLI IN MOSCOW

The looming Iranian nuclear threat has been placed front row center on the international agenda - U.S. President George Bush has warned an Iranian bomb could spark World War III while his Russian counter- part chooses to say there is no evidence that Tehran is developing nuclear weapons. China, annoyed by Bush over his meeting with the Dalai Lama, shows no sign that it will support the American appeal for tougher sanctions. Meanwhile Israeli leaders, who have declared they cannot acquiesce in Iran's acquiring nuclear weapons, have been presenting their concerns in Moscow and Washington. Opinion poll indicates most Israelis favor using military force to prevent nuclear weapons falling into hands of President Ahmadinejad who threatens wipe Jewish state off the map.
