Irwin Cotler was a member of the Canadian Parliament from 1995 to 2015 and Canada’s Minister of Justice and Attorney General from 2003 to 2006. As an international human rights lawyer, Cotler is regarded as an expert in international law and human right law, and has served on the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and its sub-Committee on Human Rights and International Development, as well as on the Standing Committee on Justice and Human Rights.
